Job Description

ECAD Engineering, a Nova Group, GBC company, is in search of an experienced landfill engineer to lead and grow our ECAD business. This role will require working with our local office professionals and clients to prepare landfill construction contract documents, pay request reviews, prepare landfill construction certification reports for regulatory approval, and maintain regulatory permit compliance. This role will also be responsible for new business development, tracking and managing ECAD’s financial performance, ECAD employee management and staffing decisions, and overall ECAD operations. The candidate may also work with other Nova professionals on environmental projects at other offices or remotely from home at times. 

The successful candidate will be honest and self-disciplined and enjoy working in a small office setting. They will be required to develop positive relationships with co-workers, clients, citizens, regulatory agencies, and contractors through tactful and effective communication. This job will also require occasional travel in Minnesota and surrounding states to help us meet the consulting needs of our clients and for business development activities.

Desired Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • BS in Civil or Geo-Engineering from an accredited college or university

  • 5+ years of solid waste/landfill engineering or related engineering experience

  • PE license in MN, or ability to obtain in 3-9 months

  • Excellent ASTM soil classification skills and testing knowledge

  • Certified in Design of Construction SWPPP

  • Leachate treatment experience is a plus

  • Civil 3D AutoCAD knowledge related to grading plans and piping layouts

  • Good MS Office skills are required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

  • Valid Driver’s License with an approved record is required

  • Ability to work outdoors, walk through job sites with irregular terrain, and lift up to 30 pounds

  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Safety Certification
